Spend a week camped on a remote Alaska glacier deep in the Chugach Mountains while choosing lines to ascend and ride from the doorstep of your tent!
Experience backcountry splitboarding and ski touring Alaska in its wildest form.
Fly in a bush plane out to an unforgettably majestic location in one of Alaska’s most iconic mountain ranges – the Chugach. On this trip, you will be guided by seasoned Alaska guides, including Jason Champion and Brendan Burns, to climb and ride amazing lines far from the road.
Pulseline’s Alaska Backcountry Touring Camp is designed for experienced backcountry skiers and snowboarders who want to take it to the next level and experience a more remote adventure, seek out ascents, and ride big lines. Here you will earn the best turns of your life and appreciate the needed rejuvenation the mountains will graciously provide.
Interested? If so, you must be a self reliant, experienced, advanced to expert backcountry skier or splitboarder who is comfortable riding variable backcountry conditions, deep powder, and steep slopes. This trip is physically demanding. You should have a high level of fitness with the ability to ascend and descend an average of 3,000-6,000 vertical feet per day over multiple days.
Avalanche training and prior glacier travel experience are beneficial but not required.
You’ll be part of the team’s decision-making process and will learn how to assess weather and snow conditions, choose appropriate routes and descents, communicate efficiently with your group, and identify hazards in a dynamic, remot glacial environment.
After flying into a remote base camp, you will wake each morning on a remote glacier in the Chugach Mountains and enjoy a delicious hot breakfast with hot coffee or tea followed by a group meeting to discuss weather, snow conditions, and the objectives for the day.
After a full day in the mountains, the group will tour back to camp for aprés with glacier ice cocktails or the beverage of your choice, followed by dinner prepared by the Pulseline chef.
